SALARY/RANK: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree required and two years' experience as Certified Athletic Trainer, preferably in the collegiate setting. Candidates must be recognized by the BOC as a Certified Athletic Trainer and be eligible for Pennsylvania State licensure. Candidate must possess a current CPR/First Aid/AED certification. Demonstrated communication skills, ability to work effectively as a member of a team and must relate effectively with students, coaches, faculty, and administration. Ability to hand multiple priorities; communicate well in written and verbal form. Periods of travel as well as evening and weekend work is required. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong Christian faith, a commitment to the University's Mission, and a demonstrated commitment to that faith, through his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Athletic Trainer has a responsibility for the athletic training services for varsity/junior varsity sports. This person will ensure the prevention, emergency care, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses within the University's comprehensive athletic training services. Coordinate student-athlete referrals, assist with the coordination and scheduling of student-athletes for physical examinations; report the status of injured student-athletes to coaching staffs and meet as requested; complete, organize and maintain all written and electronic medical records on University student-athletes, and share in the responsibility of maintaining and organizing the athletic training room.
