  • Provide necessary care, prevention, and treatment of injuries/illnesses to varsity student-athletes
  • Provide medical coverage for athletic practices
  • Provide medical coverage for athletic competitions home and away (as necessary).
  • Development and implementation of rehabilitation programs
  • Maintain treatment documentation and records using Athletic Trainer System (ATS) and other subscribed EMR
  • Oversight of student workers, including hiring, scheduling, and training
  • Assist in coordinating medical insurance claims
  • Review team conditioning and fitness testing plans in accordance with NCAA Catastrophic Injury Prevention Guidelines
  • Adhere to all NCAA recommendations, BOC standards and Massachusetts state licensing regulations.
  • Assist in annual review of departmental policies
  • Assist with directing and evaluating Emergency Action Plans (including inclement weather policies)
  • Assist in organizing and supervising athletic training facilities
  • Assist with the CPR/First Aid/AED certification of coaches
  • Maintain inventory
  • Assist team physicians with weekly clinics
  • Assist in scheduling appointments for student-athletes with team physicians
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
  • Previous athletic training experience, preferably at the college level
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • BOC certified
  • Commonwealth of Massachusetts Athletic Trainer's license (or eligible and obtained prior to employment)
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certifications, required
  • Experience in therapeutic exercise and manual therapy
  • Experience managing multiple tasks
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects effectively
  • Experience with ATS, Google Calendar, Outlook, Microsoft office suite
  • Working knowledge and application of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Prepared to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Prior experience working with and contributing to a diverse workplace environment
  • Some lifting will be required
  • Must work well under pressure
