Position Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer, Women's Basketball
Department: Intercollegiate Athletics
Reports to: Director of Sports Medicine
Appointment: Full-time; 40 hours per week (12-month position)
Status: Exempt
Purpose of Position: Provide healthcare to Bradley Athletics student athletes and facilitate administrative functions within the sports medicine department of intercollegiate athletics.
Responsibilities:
* Daily practice coverage, treatments, rehabilitation, and home/away game coverage for student athletes as assigned.
* Communication with sport performance staff and athletic coaches in regard to athlete injuries and limitations present by those injuries.
* Document all injuries and treatments using best practices.
* Communication with medical professionals.
* When necessary, accompany athletes to medical appointments.
* Assist sport coaches with coverage for camps and clinics.
* Perform duties as related to serving administrative function in the following as assigned
* Coordination of summer coaches and Gatorade camps
* Coordination in conjunction with sports performance staff of fuel station and nutrition programing for student athletes
* Data collection and interpretation of injury and treatment statics of student athletes
* Daily operation schedule for staff
* PPE yearly schedule in conjunction with Student Health and other providers
* Inventory and ordering of supplies
* Maintain appropriate certifications for national and state practice as an athletic trainer
* Other duties as assigned by the Director of Sports Medicine or the Senior Administration team
A Bachelor's degree required; a Master's degree preferred. NATA/BOC certification and current CPR/AED/First Aid certification is required and candidates must be eligible for an Illinois state license. The successful candidate must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills and demonstrate sensitivity to cultural differences. Proficiency with computer applications; general office software and knowledge of and adherence to NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference rules and regulations as well as a willingness to embrace and model the mission and core values of Bradley Athletics are required. The successful candidate must be willing and able to work irregular hours and weekends and possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
