Our gourmet bakery located in Melville is seeking an Assistant Bakery Manager for its busy department. High volume baking experience and an eye for detail is required for this position. Our Assistant Bakery Managers support our Bakery Managers, supervise our baking staff, and help manage all bakery operations.Responsibilities Assist the Bakery Manager with the daily operations of our Bakery Department.Lead by example, providing excellent customer service to all customers, including counter, in-person orders, and online orders.Support our Bakery team with food safety and sanitation standards.Assist with the hiring and training process for the Bakery Department, with guidance from the Bakery Manager.Maintain our standard of service and production during high volume holidays.Inspect Bakery items to ensure that the display meets our standards, quality, uniformity, and showcase appeal.Resolve customer complaints in a professional manner.Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; Pastry Chef training is a plus.3+ years of experience working in a Bakery, with at least 2 years in a management position.A food handler's license is required.In-depth knowledge of Bakery operations, including experience in hiring, training, and scheduling employees.The ability to work under pressure during busy holidays.Must be able to speak, read, and communicate in the English language.Great communication skills with a drive to provide excellent customer service.We offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), 50% off lunch, 25% off in-store shopping, and more!Working Conditions Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces.
