Job Description:
Sunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for an Assistant Beverage Manager - Resort Pools! The Assistant Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing the bar/service staff and daily operations of the resort pool beverage programs. Main responsibilities include training and supervision a staff of bartenders & servers, training on beverage programs and proper drink production, monitoring bar inventory and ensuring locations are well-stocked, maintain compliance with all health and safety procedures, and provide excellence in guest service and experience. The Assistant Beverage Manager is also responsible for supporting the pool's operational objections, assist with ordering, meet and exceed revenue goals and provide leadership support to the F&B Pool Managers and Senior Beverage Manager.All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices, and procedures. Job Duties
  • Maintains floor presence the majority of the shifts, including table touching with guests to ensure great experience
  • Creates team member schedules, ensuring fairness and complete coverage and proper labor budget
  • Mix drinks, pour, and serve wine, beer, and other beverages as needed to assist team members as necessary
  • Monitor amenity room deliveries, inventory and VIP lounge operations & experience, ensuring well stocked for VIP guests
  • Assist with department paperwork and other administrative duties as assigned
  • Maintain stock levels in the bar and amenity room, complete daily and monthly inventory, and order supplies when necessary
  • Handle complaints, conflicts, questions, and suggestions from team members and guests immediately
  • Lead and direct a team of bar staff, cocktail servers, bar backs and amenity room servers
  • Hold daily pre-shift meetings and keeps team members informed on all resort happenings (per shift), keep team members accountable and set action plans with continued follow-up
  • Ensures strict standards for safety and sanitation and maintain compliance with health and safety standards
  • Maintains high standards for uniform and hygiene of all team members
  • Assist with recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.
  • Meets bar financial objectives by watching labor and overhead costs, collecting revenues, controlling alcoholic beverage portions
  • Keeps bar equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Maintains safe, secure, legal, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation and quality of drink preparation and service standards and procedures, monitoring customers alcohol consumption.
  • Maintains bar atmosphere by arranging bottles and glasses displays; encouraging comradery; arranging entertainment; controlling lighting, background music, and video displays.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment when evaluating new programs, new services and new ideas
  • Stay abreast of property goals in order to create, support and present departmental goals to executive leadership
  • Continue to learn and be on the forefront of new technology for the hotel industry
  • Create ways to further enrich the guest experience by continuously reviewing, implementing and refining procedures to ensure every opportunity to offer extraordinary guest experiences while maintaining a culture of smiles, retention of luxury standards
  • Proactively seek guest feedback and liaise with other departments when opportunities present themselves ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience
  • Manage guest requests and own all complaints; resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guest's satisfaction
  • Develop collaborative relationships and synergy with all support departments such as Convention Sales & Services, Facilities, Security, Front Services, Front Office, F&B, Golf Course and Executive Offices
  • Foster a management team that possesses and delivers on key strategies of guest service, employee relations, team cooperation, financial responsibility and asset management
  • Ensure all accounting, payroll and employee relations matters are handled in compliance with company policy
  • Perform other functions as needed
Minimum RequirementsCombination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates.   • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • 2 years Manager experience or higher in a Full Service, High-Volume Restaurant/Bar
  • A professional understanding of wine, beer, and cocktails.
  • Proven track record of providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to manage bar costs in a high-volume environment
  • Strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office, events/catering software, timekeeping/scheduling systems and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Must be able to obtain ServSafe and responsible alcohol service certifications
  • Proficient in P&L analysis and various reporting
  • Advanced organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation standards.
