Salary:
Stipend Position: $2,120 - $2,544 depending on experience
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt for classified employees and Exempt for current, certificated employees.
SCHEDULE: Winter season January 6th, 2025 through February 12th, 2025. Hours per day to be mutually agreed upon with Athletic Director and/or Head Coach.
BENEFITS: Benefits are in alignment with School Board Policies and Procedures as well as the Shelton Athletic/Activities Association Bargained Agreement.
Reports to: Athletic Director or designee.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to serve as an assistant coach for the Oakland Bay Junior High School boys basketball team. This seasonal position will require a commitment to the team and the ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Previous, successful experience in sport as participant and/or coach preferred.
* Ability and willingness to maintains certification in CPR and First Aid.
* Such other qualifications as set by the WIAA.
* The ability to pass a federal background check.
* Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and tact with all aspects of employment.
* Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
* Ability and willingness to be dynamic, energetic, motivated, and committed to developing a successful program.
* Possession of strong leadership skills.
* Ability and willingness to relate well to student-athletes and demonstrate care for them beyond the sport experience.
* Possession of a deep understanding of track.
* Strong communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to write reports and correspondence consistent with the duties of this position.
* Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback.
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information.
* Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals consistent with the duties of the position.
* Ability to interpret a variety of information furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.
* Ability to identify and define problems, collect, and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Ability and willingness to promote a harassment-free environment.
* Ability to learn and utilize office equipment, computers, and software especially as systems are upgraded.
