Send resumeto: info@Overview:Oak City Brewing Company is an established growing microbrewery seeking an experienced assistant brewer. As the assistant brewer, you will work closely with the head brewer to execute and produce quality, consistent beer. This role requires excellent time management skills, comfort with autonomy on brew days, and fantastic interpersonal skills.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift 75 lbs independentlyAble to stand for long periods of time in hot/cold conditionsAble to kneel, crouch and climb while workingAble to work in an environment which consists of extreme hot and cold temperaturesFlexibility to work variable hours as needed on heavy cleaning and brew days, either early mornings or late evenings. This will be communicated and coordinated with the head brewer.Responsibilities:Co-brewing with head brewer (potentially multiple times a week)Milling and prep for brew daysMonitoring, documenting and adjustment of fermenting beersCleaning, maintenance and repair of brewery and equipmentKeg cleaningRegular inventory of brewing ingredients, supplies and chemicalsOrganizing kegs and keg coolersAssisting taproom manager with taphouse kegs, backups, canning/crowleringRecirc cleaning Taphouse draft tower twice a monthParticipation in special eventsNecessary Skills & Qualifications:At least 1+ years as an assistant brewer working on a commercial system. Preferably no smaller than a 3bbl (consideration will be given to the right candidate).Proficient understanding and knowledge of the mechanical systems used on both the hot and cold side. (e.g. Steam, glycol, keg cleaner, Hi-flow CO2 tanks, etc.)Proficient understanding and knowledge of chemical concentrations, dilutions and conversions associated with safely preparing and cleaning using hazardous chemicals.Proper understanding and use of PPE and healthy workplace practices at all timesProficient computer skills a MUST (e.g. brewing schedule, documentation, etc completed electronically)Compensation:Competitive hourly rateFriendly working environment with growth opportunities#J-18808-Ljbffr
