  • Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques
  • Work on projects that typically include bridge (steel plate girder, prestress concrete, segmental and cable), box culvert, and interchange design for highway and railway projects
  • Select standard bridge engineering/design procedures, develop structural details using specialized structural design and analysis software, perform structural load calculations, and assist with geometric layout and quantity development
  • Review, assign work, and/or check design calculations, estimates, and specifications produced by junior engineers and EITs
  • Responsible for many aspects of a small project or a single aspect of a larger project
  • Coordinate workload through project execution and complete deliverables on budget and schedule
  • Perform other duties as needed#LI-JF1

  • 7 years of bridge design experience is preferred
  • MS in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Caltrans bridge design experience
  • Experience working with Caltrans District 7, 8, 11 or 12
  • California PE license
  • MicroStation, AutoCAD experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software
  • Experience managing junior staff
  • Excellent communication skills and working in a team environment
Qualifications Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5 years related experience
  • ProfessionalEngineer (PE) license
  • MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus)
