SUMMARYThe Assistant Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Officer assists the BSA Officer Lead with developing, implementing and administering all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Program.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESAssists BSA Officer Lead with projects/responsibilities including but not limited to:
- CTR completion in Verafin.
- Verafin BSA alerts, Verafin Fraud alerts.
- Verafin Cases, including investigating possible suspicious activity reports.
- SAR completion in Verafin.
- EDD/CDD reviews and SAR filings.
- Answering BSA compliance emails from employees.
- Educating employees on topics and trends.
- Reporting fraud to the appropriate agency.
- 314a completion.
- Preparation of monthly BSA board reports.
- Preparation of BSA section of the quarterly compliance committee meetings.
- Updating BSA policy and risk assessment.
- Training Board on BSA requirements.
- 314b requests.
- Annual DOEP reviews.
- Gathering documents for BSA audits and exams.
Reviews cash reports in core and cash courier reports.Stays current on BSA regulations.Attends outside Fraud and BSA conferences.Recognizes red flags, scams, fraud, phishing, etc.Stays current on applicable banking regulations and security procedures and practices to prevent fraud or other bank losses and to comply with regulatory requirements.Performs responsibilities during Bank hours by being physically present at the Bank an average of 40 hours each week based on banking needs.Travels between branches as needed.Performs other responsibilities as assigned by management.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree, preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of BSA banking experience.
- Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, qualifying motor vehicle record report, and reliable transportation.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of BSA.
- Excellent knowledge of bank products, computer systems, and software applications.
- Excellent time management and prioritization.
- Uses appropriate discretion and authority in decision making and makes decisions under pressure.
