Job Description:
Mungo Homes is adding an Assistant Builder to our team in the Triad, NC market!This position is responsible for learning several aspects of our business including customer service, permitting, project management as well as system administration for our integrated computer system. Will become responsible for coordinating and monitoring construction activities in an assigned location(s) with a strong focus on quality, consistency, safety, and timeliness of assigned building projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (performs other duties as assigned)
  • Work with Senior Builder and corporate office to be trained on effective use of KOVA system.
  • Participate in Customer Service follow up with homeowners according to company program.
  • Active participant in inspections and meetings with inspectors, while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Work with Builders and other departments as necessary to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other members of the Production team, customers/clients, and trade partners. Where required, monitor work performance of Punch/Merchandising personnel and/or trade partners. Report both positive and constructive feedback to Area Production Manager.
  • Assist in maintaining schedules for each home under construction from start date to completion in assigned neighborhood(s).
  • Work with Purchasing, Estimating, Quality Control, Production Management, Sales, and Land Development to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
  • Examine and inspect work progress and construction sites to verify that safety, construction, and performance standards are being met.
  • Interact with customer/clients as required.
  • Report material and delivery issues, both quantity and quality, to Production Management, Purchasing/Estimating, and Drafting.
  • Become familiar with current building codes and OSHA standards as it relates to residential construction.
  • Oversee and manage daily activities of field labor crews where required. Responsibilities include defining expectations, inspecting work for completion and quality, communication effectively and approving work for payment as directed.
  • Become efficient at managing all aspects of the homebuilding process. Customer meetings, scheduling, trade partner management, OSHA safety compliance, quality management, and evaluating project costs while maintaining budgets.
