Description Our Client, a leader in commercial real estate and facilities/asset management is seeking to add an Assistant Building Engineer to its team. This role will work onsite in York, PA and works Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. This is a contract to hire role that pays $28-36 per hour depending on experience. The key to this role is prior maintenance experience, dependability, ability to problem solve, and readiness to learn. Upon conversion this role offers increased compensation, an annual bonus plan, and a strong benefit package. Job Responsibilities:
- Performs general preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds.
- Working under moderate supervision, assists in monitoring building system operations and performance.
- Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling.
- Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Maintains all equipment as required per preventive maintenance programs prescribed by manufacturer's specifications.
- Performs housekeeping functions and maintains the professional appearances of the property, equipment, engineering spaces, and common areas.
- Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum.
- Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
- Assists with troubleshooting and repairs of buildings and installed systems to include: plumbing systems, kitchen equipment, roofs, drains, shop, and HVAC.
Required Skills:
- 2+ years of general maintenance experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- High School Diploma or GED
- Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Preferred Skills:
- 4+ years of preventative building maintenance experience (Boiler, HVAC, Plumbing)
