Assistant Chief Financial Officer Overview:
The Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) plays a key role in the financial leadership pipeline, serving as a direct path to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position. This role is responsible for overseeing the Financial Accounting and Reporting Department, ensuring the delivery of effective and efficient financial services.
Job Tasks:
- Apply Healthcare Finance Knowledge: Use your understanding of healthcare finance to drive both clinical and financial outcomes.
- Manage Capital Assets: Oversee capital asset management processes to optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate with HIM and Case Management: Demonstrate knowledge of Health Information Management (HIM) and Case Management/Care Coordination functions to support financial goals.
- Enhance Productivity and Scheduling: Optimize staffing, productivity, and scheduling processes.
- Ensure Accounting and Compliance Excellence: Maintain a strong grasp of hospital accounting, internal controls, and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Develop Executive Presence: Exhibit strong leadership and communication skills, adapting to a variety of situations with professionalism and expertise.
Education:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of three years in finance/accounting or public accounting/audit; experience as a hospital Controller is preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- Certifications: CPA is preferred.
