Bring your leadership and law enforcement expertise to Round Rock ISD as our next Assistant Chief of Police. Partner with educators to create a safe, collaborative, and equitable school environment that empowers students to succeed.

About the Role: Assistant Chief of Police

As the Assistant Chief of Police, you will play a pivotal leadership role in the Round Rock ISD Police Department, ensuring the safety and security of the district while fostering strong relationships within the school community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Staff Leadership: Provide administrative direction, lead recruitment, hiring, and placement of staff, and supervise and evaluate personnel. Recognize exemplary performance and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Operations & Field Supervision: Oversee field investigations, manage daily assignments, and supervise responses to complex incidents. Ensure compliance with departmental policies and maintain department records.
  • Administrative Management: Handle budgeting, reporting, and evidence management, and collaborate closely with the Chief of Police on improvements and strategic direction.
  • Training & Development: Guide staff through professional development and training initiatives to enhance department effectiveness and service delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze critical needs, implement and refine programs, and work collaboratively with campus administrators to improve safety and student advocacy.
  • School & Community Relations: Promote public relations with students, staff, and officers, while building strong partnerships with governmental agencies, business organizations, and the local community to support district initiatives.
  • Team Building & Morale: Foster collaboration, teamwork, and active staff engagement, ensuring quick conflict resolution and recognizing staff achievements to maintain high morale.
  • Compliance & Other Duties: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and district policies, and take on other duties as assigned to support the district's goals.

This leadership position requires strategic thinking, strong communication, and a commitment to both public safety and student advocacy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Texas Master Peace Officer (TCOLE) License
  • 3+ Years Executive Law Enforcement Experience (Lieutenant rank or higher)
  • Meet district liability insurance requirements and hold a valid Texas driver's license
