STARTING SALARY: Assistant City Engineer - $94,314.96 - $129,690.90
Transportation Engineer: $81,766.08 - $112,428.36
STATUS: Regular (benefitted)
Two applicants will be hired out of this recruitment process to fill the Assistant City Engineer and Transportation Engineer positions.
SUMMARY:
* Assistant City Engineer: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Public Works Director/City Engineer, manages capital improvement projects and engineering development review.
* Transportation Engineer: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Public Works Director/City Engineer, supervises and directs the operations and personnel of the Traffic Engineering Division.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Assistant City Engineer: Requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field. Related graduate degree preferred. Requires five years engineering experience, two of which must include supervisory responsibilities. May substitute up to two years additional education for two years of non-supervisory required experience. Valid Utah Driver's License required; current P.E. License in the state of Utah required. A one-year probationary period is a prerequisite to this position. Knowledge of civil engineering design and construction methods; principles of management and budgeting; Software platforms for management, design, and digital review. Understanding of research and analysis methods, personnel policies and procedures, project management, and budgeting.
* Transportation Engineer: Requires a bachelor's degree in traffic or civil engineering or related field. Requires four years of traffic engineering experience; may substitute an additional two years of education for experience. A one-year probationary period is a prerequisite to this position. Valid Utah Driver's License required. Current Professional Engineering License in the state of Utah required. Knowledge of traffic engineering standards and principles; principles of management and budgeting; computer management and design systems, correct English usage, grammar, and spelling. A working knowledge of the City's streets and transportation systems.
