Details: L.J Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified individuals for potential assignment as an Assistant Civil Engineer.
- Perform and conduct field surveys and prepare field survey reports
- Monitor construction field work by contractors ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specification and approve shop drawings
- Utilize web-based document management protocols to maintain all project submittals and correspondences
- Review and mark-up construction submittals
- Perform the following tasks, including, but not limited to:
- site inspections
- ascend and descend ladders and stairs
- work on elevated platforms and scaffolds
- stand for extended periods
- work outdoors in all weather conditions , in subway tunnels and stations environments, etc.
- Under supervision of the Project Manager, participate in preparing and reviewing payments, AWOs, daily reports
Job RequirementsDetails:
- A Bachelor's OR Master's Degree in Civil Engineering
- 1 year of full-time satisfactory experience
- OSHA 30 Certification and 8-hour Lead
- Proficiency with AutoCad/Microstation and ProjectWise
- Demonstrated knowledge of Civil/Structural Engineering standards/codes and practice
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks between stakeholders which includes contractors operations, other departments and engineering personnel
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Skilled with Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Ability to prioritize and ensure timely completion of assignments
