Under the direction of the Head Coach, the Assistant Coach is responsible for all aspects of the development and administration of a successful NCAA Division III Intercollegiate Track & Field Program. The program will be conducted in accordance with all College and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), rules, regulations, and policies.

The Assistant Coach is a professional employee of the College with a primary duty of teaching and instructing student-athletes in the sport of Tennis. The vast majority of the Assistant Coach's time is spent on coaching/teaching duties in season and recruiting, while a minority of the Assistant Coach's time is spent performing administrative duties.

Essential Functions:

1. Coaching/Teaching/Recruiting Duties: (70% of Assistant Coach's time):

* Practice planning with coach;

* In season and Out of season conditioning;

* Assure proper safety equipment and safety practices are implemented; attend practices; assure skills and game strategies are effectively taught in conjunction with Head coach;

* Ability to travel with the teams for practices and races;

* Ability to Recruit prospective student-athletes.

2. Administrative Duties: (30% of Assistant Coach's time)

* Help Head Coach with Frontrush & Sales Force system;

* Partner with the Admission Department in the recruiting of student athletes; provide recruiting reports as requested by Admission and follow Admission and recruiting procedures as required by Admission;

* Arrange and attend recruiting visits to schools, games, and recruiting events, maintaining full and accurate records of recruiting events;

* Maintain recruiting database with up-to-date contact information for prospective students and coach contacts, as well as record of all communications and interactions with recruits;

* Arrange on-campus visits for recruits and meet with prospective students and their families; arrange overnight visits and assure prospective students are appropriately supervised;

* Drive van when needed.

3. Supervision

* Work study students when applicable.

Additional Functions:

* Comply with the NCAA Track & Field policies, conference rules, and department policies and procedures;

* Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach;

* Must be able to perform Head Coach duties on an emergency basis;

* Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in a related discipline from an accredited four-year collegiate institution.

* One to two years of Track & Field coaching experience at the club, high school or college level.

* Experience in coaching and knowledge of the fundamentals, tactics, and strategies of coaching Track & Field with ability to recruit talented players for the program.

* Knowledgeable and current on all College rules and regulations concerning eligibility and recruiting related to Track & Field.

* Ability to handle emergency situations involving students.

* Current driver's license and good driving record.

* Ability to travel.

* Ability to work evening and weekends and some holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Track & Field playing experience.

* Current CPR and First Aid certification.
