Description Position at The Port Authority of NY & NJ About the RoleThe Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Compensation Analyst in the Human Resources Department to work on a variety of ongoing compensation initiatives. THIS IS A TEMPORARY/CONTRACT POSITION WITHOUT BENEFITS.Responsibilities
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Perform in-depth quantitative analysis of compensation-related data using queries and Excel. Develop and maintain detailed, reports for decision-makers.
  • Job Evaluation & Classification: Support the evaluation, classification, and maintenance of agency roles to ensure consistency and alignment with organizational goals.
  • HRIS Data Management: Enter, update, and ensure the accuracy of job-related information in the HRIS system.
  • Survey Management: Conduct standard and ad-hoc compensation surveys, collaborating with external sources to gather, analyze, and interpret results.
  • Market Research & Benchmarking: Research compensation trends using online tools, reports, and industry contacts, and collaborate with team members and external partners to gather and review data, ensuring our pay practices align with market standards
  • Training & Communication: Assist in creating training materials, presentations, and content to enhance understanding of compensation policies and practices across the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Statistics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of one-year demonstrated work experience in a Compensation Analyst role.
Desired Qualifications
  • Advanced coursework or a graduate degree is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with HRIS systems or analytics tools.
  • Strong ability to perform quantitative analyses, with proficiency in data visualization and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with compensation and HR practices is desired
  • Strong organizational skills with a meticulous approach to accuracy and detail.
