The Opportunity:

The Assistant Controller will oversee day-to-day financial accounting and reporting activities of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and reporting requirements. This role will be responsible for maintaining accounting records and ensure compliance as well as leading the monthly financial close/reporting process.

How I Will Contribute:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Maintain accounting records and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Lead the monthly financial close/reporting process, including compilation of internal financial statements for management and external reporting requirements to approved parties.
  • Create forecasts and other ad-hoc reports upon request to support informed decision-making by senior management.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Review and approve vendor payments weekly.
  • Supervise and lead a team of staff accounting professionals.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities, provide guidance, and evaluate performance.
  • Foster a positive work environment and facilitate team development.
  • Support internal and external audits as conducted by Controller.
  • Cultivate a good internal control culture to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Liaison with Controller to support strategy and vision of the company.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data accuracy and completeness.

What You Bring to the Role:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation a plus.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or related field with a proven track record in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerBI preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
