Assistant ControllerAssists Controller in Daily oversight of the Finance Department including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting and credit and collections. Assume the responsibility of all personnel supervised (including the quality and quantity of work, efficiency and productivity). Motivate staff, observe deadlines and ensure personnel are meeting client's needs. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Acts as a positive catalyst for operational excellence and ensures an environment of financial integrity.
- Assists in analyzing all aspects of financial performance and provides recommendations for improvement.
- Partners and collaborates cross-functionally to drive revenue and margin performance.
- Assists in the preparation and review of monthly operating financial statements
- Assist with reviews monthly and quarterly financial statement results to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
- Works with business managers to review monthly performance and develop improvement strategies were necessary.
- Assist with preparation of budgets, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification.
- Assists management about insurance coverage for protection against property losses and potential liabilities.
- Assists in providing management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
- Prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Prepares information as required for internal and external partners, including auditors, bankers. Acts as a liaison with external auditors during the preparation of the annual audit.
- Assists with treasury function to ensure maximum cash flow delivery.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESManages 1-3 employees in the Administration Department Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Qualifications
- Management/Supervisory experience
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance with at least 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA/CMA or Master's degree.
- Knowledge of GAAP principles and federal/state taxes and reporting regulations
- Advanced Excel or equivalent combination of education and experience.
