Assistant Controller
Our client in the Waterloo, NY area is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee the financial practices of the organization through accurate accounting and financial management procedures.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 annually depending on experience
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee the financial practices of the organization through accurate accounting and financial management procedures.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the Business Office, addressing the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. Maintain up-to-date accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Prepare monthly and annual financial summaries, analyses of financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow. Include projections for upcoming months and quarters, and report operating results to the Controller on a timely basis.
- Perform various financial and managerial duties to support the ongoing financial health of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with a concentration in Accounting.
- At least five years of experience in accounting, auditing, and financial management, preferably within a not-for-profit environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with New York State funding streams, such as Medicaid, OMRDD, VESID, SED, and OMH, is highly desirable.
