Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to become an important part of a rapidly growing team. The Assistant Controller will lead the corporate and platform accounting teams, provide support to the financial reporting and revenue accounting teams, and assist the VP Global Controller with strategy for the function as a whole. The corporate and platform accounting teams are responsible for being liaisons to business leaders and the general accounting functions for corporate, including; general ledger, month end close, consolidation, allocations, accounts payable, payroll accounting, lease and fixed asset accounting, business combinations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This position reports to the VP Global Controller and will be based in the Companys headquarters in Orlando, Florida. What You'll Do:
  • Develops and executes strategies and standards related to accounting policy, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and financial systems and controls. Oversees and ensures deadlines are met.
  • Own and review monthly, quarterly, annual account reconciliations and resolve unexplained variances in a timely manner.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement and collaboratively design and implement the corresponding process and reporting changes. Responsible for the corporate budget/forecast preparation and explaining variances to budget/forecast.
  • Responsible for overseeing the completion of monthly and quarterly internal reports for senior management. This includes but not limited to; Flash reporting, Trends reporting, budget vs actual reporting, etc.
  • Own critical functions of the annual consolidated financial statement audit and quarterly consolidated financial statement reviews in partnership with the companys external auditor.
  • Create forward-looking financial models, consistent profitability metrics and robust analysis to manage external/internal audit requests.
  • Lead proper internal controls and segregation of duties. Ownership for the corporate accounting processes and controls.
  • Provide operational and technical accounting support to the business and other corporate functions, as needed.
  • Serve as a Financial business partner to the business and corporate function leaders
  • Consult and supervise, training, development, and performance management of the corporate and platform accounting teams.
  • Lead in management best practices, putting in place clear and measurable objectives and KPI's across all departments to ensure everyone is aligned on their objectives and how they fit into the broader strategic goals of the organization. Advise in special projects, team training, and development opportunities.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.
  • Travel is expected to be negligible in this role.

What You'll Need:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting required, advanced degree preferred (i.e., Masters)
  • Certified public accountant (CPA) designation required. An active CPA license preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, a minimum of 5 years experience managing others
  • Prior experience working in an accounting function for a public company preferred
  • Strong communication skills with executive presence
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with US GAAP
  • Prior public accounting experience in audit with at least 1 busy season at the Senior level, Big 4 experience preferred
  • Experience with Workday ERP strongly preferred
  • Strong Excel skills and financial analytical ability
  • This role will report full-time on site at our company headquarters in Orlando, FL.
