Position SummaryUnder supervision and direction of the Controller,this position will provide technical accounting and financial reportingexpertise including the implementation and maintenance of accountingprinciples, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financialstatements.Essential Duties andResponsibilities (Other duties may be assigned.)•Research new and existing accounting guidance.•Lead the coordination and preparation of SEC filingsand serve as the primary point of contact with the company's external auditorsas well as the internal audit function.•Responsible for monthly closing processes - reviewsthe general ledger, determines monthly manual accruals, and prepares reportingfor review and approval.•Monitors income and expense accounts and performsanalysis to ensure financial accuracy.•Work closelywith the Finance team during the monthly financial close process includingrecording journal entries, preparing and reviewing general ledgerreconciliations, analyzing key accounts, preparing budget to actual andvariance analyses, and assessing adequacy of reserves and accruals.•Prepare, maintain and enhance internal controldocumentation under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and drive its compliance.•Prepare corporate income and property tax worksheets,and file period tax reports with various government agencies.•Assist with budgeting and Finance/accounting projects.Qualifications•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, BusinessAdministration, Finance, Economics, or related field required. •CPA required.•3 or more years of accounting or audit experience withfinancial institutions including SEC reporting experience.•Strong understanding of GAAP rules and requirementsand SOX controls. •Active knowledge of accounting principles.•Effective oral and written communication skills.•Ability to present and communicate financial results.•Advanced knowledge of Excel.•Ability to work independently and within a teamenvironment.•Ability to make sound and timely decisions.•Results-oriented team builder with superior analyticaland problem-solving skills.•Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task underdeadlines and strong attention to detail.FIRST COMMUNITY BANK (SC) is an EEO employer - M/F/Vets/Disabled
