About the Role
Summary: This position will be responsible for the financial system activities of Magna Body and Chassis Iowa and supply management with accurate and timely data regarding the financial performance of the division.
Your Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities: (This job description in no way implies that these are the only duties to be performed in this position. Employees will be required to follow any other job-related instructions or to perform other job duties requested by their manager)
* Evaluate financial/operational results and provide management with information for effective planning and audit of the organization
* Complete month end journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, month end financial reports including rolls from budget/forecast to actual and other various financial measurements within short timelines
* Analyze and interpret actual performance to plan, explain key variances, and make recommendations for action
* Track and report weekly key performance indicators including direct labor, indirect labor, and overhead analysis
* Prepares division Business Plan (budget) and quarterly forecasts
* Heavy focus on managing the continuous improvement goals, projects, activities, and performance.
* Assist with completing/reviewing/auditing annual audit and tax packages.
* Cross train, audit, and review accounting functions with other staff in the accounting dept.
* Handle confidential information on a regular basis

Your preferred qualifications
Qualifications: (These qualifications represent the minimum requirements of the position. Employees will be required to possess the ability and aptitudes to perform the duties proficiently)
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance/Accounting, with minimum 5 years' experience in accounting preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Experience:
* Analyze and plan capital tooling projects
* Work within a corporate environment
* Proficient in use of computer software programs, including Microsoft Office suite and ERP systems.
* Ability to develop, maintain and manipulate complex spreadsheets
* Experience with AS400 based computer system and Hyperion and/or database administration preferred.
