About Our ClientI'm partnered with the CFO at a high growth, privately held, global, manufacturer of world-class products located near Vernon Hills, IL. The company is growing through strategic acquisitions to grow their manufacturing footprint, and are now seeking to add an Assistant Controller to the team!Reporting into the Controller with daily communication to the CFO, you will have full ownership of the Accounting & Finance function, while leading and mentoring a team of 5+ individuals. As the Assistant Controller, you will also drive key process improvements to create efficiency's within the organization involving month-end, costing, system implementations, and more.Job DescriptionController Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of 5+ individuals
  • Foster continuous improvement in cost accounting to enhance the precision, depth, and practical application of cost data
  • Oversight of month end close processes
  • Oversee day-to-day A/R and A/P functions
  • Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
  • Assessing current accounting operations and evaluating and improving internal control systems.
  • Ensuring that effective internal controls are in place to ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and for financial reporting.
  • Support the activities of the outside CPA firm(s)
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for internal and external distribution

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Cost accounting experience
  • Management experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
