Job Description:
SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking a full-time Assistant Controller in the Office of Administration. This position will report to the Controller and will provide leadership and professional accounting services with a focus on quality customer service to both internal and external entities. In the absence of the Controller, the Assistant Controller will act as the Controller when needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares quarterly financial summaries for all grants and works with Grant Project Directors on reconciliations of grant expenses. Produces monthly bank reconciliations for all College bank accounts. Keeps abreast of compliance reporting changes and works with the correct office to implement any updates. Coordinates and prepares ad hoc reports as requested. Creates and reviews policies and procedures as needed. Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting. Researches and reconciles accounting inaccuracies or imbalances. Reviews salary-related information as needed to assist Payroll Contributes to team efforts with support and completing related tasks as needed Assist in preparation of the annual audit. Assist in the preparation of annual tax compliance documents. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Application. At least three (3) years of accounting experience in an office setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Higher Education administration. Master's degree. Experience using Ellucian, Banner software. At least one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Salary: $65,000/year
