My client is a privately held manufacturer looking for an Assistant Controller to over see all Accounting processes within their custom manufacturing business. This individual will direct the Accounting team through completion of month end close and focus on the costing of custom product production. You will partner directly with the CFO and President of the company that will support you in pursuing strategic process improvements as you see fit!

I'm partnered with the CFO of a manufacturer in the northern suburbs that is looking for an Assistant Controller to lead their accounting and finance operations. My client is looking for a true change agent as they are entering into a new phase to support their growth!As Assistant Controller, you will oversee the Accounting team through month-end close and have ownership of the financial reporting to the CFO and President of the group. They will empower you to make strategic decisions to amend and implement Accounting processes and procedures as you see fit to put the company in the best possible financial position. The Assistant Controller will also partner with all departments on effective costing strategies to ensure profitability in production that will aid in the company achieving their ambitious growth goals!

Description

• Planning and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
• Assessing current accounting operations and evaluating internal control systems.
• Implementing, documenting, and maintaining adequate and effective accounting processes and internal controls to improve the close and reporting cycles.
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurateaccounting of consolidated business results.
• Coordinating and supporting the activities of the outside CPA firm(s), including the annual financial and benefit audits and tax returns.
• Overseeing the processes and processing of day-to-day A/R and A/P functions.
• Coordinate and participate in the preparation of annual budget and quarterly forecasts,incorporating historical results and future assumptions.

Profile

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
• CPA and/or MBA a plus.
• 7+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of management experience.
• Hands-on experience a must.
• Cost accounting experience
• Strong experience in small and mid-sized businesses strongly preferred.
• Experience in both the private and public accounting sectors is preferred, but not required.
