RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential -
* Assist in maintaining the daily operation of a 24/7/365 campus safety program.
* Observe activity and enforce college standards of conduct.
* Assume responsibility for overseeing campus safety operations in coordinator's absence.
* Patrol in vehicle and on-foot throughout HutchCC's property.
* In collaboration with the Coordinator of Campus Safety, develop, implement, and oversee a Student Cadet Program to support campus safety. Responsibilities include recruiting student cadets, coordinating and delivering training sessions, and providing ongoing supervision to ensure compliance with program standards, professional development, and operational effectiveness.
* Assist with supervising 24/7/365 part-time campus safety and contracted security.
* Assist in coordination and communication of work schedules and post orders for all campus safety staff.
* Assist students, staff and guests in buildings or on campus as needed.
* Update & provision first aid kits, campus-wide.
* Conduct an annual, campus-wide inspection, alongside the Fire Marshall, to ensure equipment and facilities meet fire code compliance standards.
* Aid students and campus visitors with minor vehicle-related needs, such as tire inflation, jump starting or vehicle lockout support
* Respond to alarms, deciding what actions are needed based on situations.
* Assist in maintaining order of large campus events and activities.
* Maintain a clean security vehicle.
* Comply with local, state, and federal crime reporting mandates.
* Serve actively on campus committees.
* Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.
* Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.
Secondary -
* Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Coordinator of Campus Safety and the Executive Director of Student Affairs and Campus Safety.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Law enforcement or management level security experience required.
* Must have a good driving record/driver's license.
* First aid certificate preferred.
* Knowledge of basic security and fire procedure required.
* The ability to work professionally with the public required.
* Positive attitude required, and must be neat, clean, and organized. Portraying a positive image to students and community members.
* Skilled in observing situations, decision making, followed by taking appropriate actions.
* Good communication both verbally and written is required.
* Computer skills include Microsoft Word and Excel required.
* Physical requirements include excellent vision; excellent eye/hand/foot coordination sufficient to operate equipment; the ability to assist in lifting heavy objects (possibly up to 100 pounds); may work in adverse conditions such as weather, possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, tissue, and communicable disease; use appropriate judgment and to apply tact and courtesy in difficult situations; medium (Potentially heavy), indoor/outdoor work environment.

HOURLY RATE of PAY and STATUS:
The hourly rate of pay is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This full-time support staff position is benefit eligible, at-will, and exempt.
