Location: Toms River,NJ, USA
This position assists in the administration of Biological Sciences, Chemistry, and Physics programs of the science department in the School of STEM; performs faculty observations, prepares the operating budget and participates in strategic planning activities. This position also manages professional development planning, participates in staff recruitment activities and promotes student engagement.

Staff Duration: Full Time 12 months1. Exercises science department leadership in program development and maintenance.
2. Organizes, develops, evaluates, implements and monitors Biological Sciences, Chemistry, and Physics programs and assessment activities.
3. Reviews, evaluates, observes and recommends science faculty for promotion and tenure.
4. Assists with the supervision and evaluation of science staff as well as science faculty observations, provides recommendations to support hiring, development and retention decisions impacting employees.
5. Participates in processes related to obtaining grants and Science department budget planning; works with outside contacts in the implementation of articulation agreements.
6. Develops and implements science class/faculty schedules, student advising schedules and office hours.
7. Manages and responds to student concerns and issues within the science department.
8. Prepares reports and maintains standards related to the accreditation process.
9. Ensures safety and environmental compliance in science laboratories.
10. Teaches up to 6 credits/year.
11. Related projects, initiatives and duties as assigned.1. Master's Degree in an academic discipline related to Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Physics.
2. Five years of experience in Higher Education of which at least two years was in administration and at least three years was in a post-secondary teaching position.
3. Four years of leadership or supervisory experience that required accountability for department, unit, function, program or team/student results.
4. Demonstrated ability to use Office Suite, database or other related technology that required the ability to analyze and create detailed documents, reports, presentations, instructional materials, etc.1. Doctorate Degree in Biological Sciences or Chemistry.
2. Two or more years of prior teaching experience at a Community College.
