Job Description:

Manhattanville's Division of Student Affairs is dedicated to creating a community that promotes and builds a sense of belonging, cultivating a culture of community in which diversity, equity, and inclusion are embedded campus-wide, ensuring that all Valiants are uplifted, valued, and respected, while nurturing the retention, and persistence of all students in their academic pursuits.

The Assistant Dean of Students, Director of the Center for Inclusion reports to the Dean of Students and is responsible for assisting the University in cultivating an inclusive and welcoming community. The Director works with all students to create a vibrant space for students in the Center, through programs, meetings and student club and organizational support. The Director oversees the support of students in various scholarship programs including first generation students and the Manhattanville Achievement Program (MAP). In addition, the Director oversees the Retention Alert support program by insuring all students identified as meeting the requirements for the program are assigned to the appropriate Student Affairs staff member's case load. The Director will provide direction and follow-up to all case managers, monitor and track all meetings with students and case managers, and develop and implement an on-going assessment of the program. As a member of the Student Affairs leadership team the Assistant Dean will help to create and implement a vibrant engagement plan that provides support for students of all identities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

* Recruit, hire, train, supervise and evaluate 2 full-time staff, the Student Support Coordinator and the Program Coordinator.

* Provide oversight to the staffing of student workers in CFI (the Center for Inclusion)

Duties/Responsibilities:

* Create a welcoming and supportive environment in the Center for Inclusion(CFI), monitoring student usage and feedback about CFI.

* Provide vision and leadership to the range of programs and initiatives aimed at supporting the retention and success of underrepresented students. These include Manhattanville First Generation Program, the Manhattanville Achievement Program (MAP).

* Regularly review and identify the identities of current Manhattanville students and ensure the engagement and support programs address the needs of all student identities.

* Engage in long-range planning, program development, and trainings designed to address the needs of the University's diverse student body.

* Oversee the Retention Alert Support program,

* work with University departments to gather information on students identified at risk behaviors,

* Assign students to case managers, ensure appropriate actions are taking place and are documented

* Create and implement an on-going assessment.

* Act as one of the University's Title IX investigators. Attend and complete all training as required.

* Serve as a member of the Student Affairs Leadership Team, serving on University committees and providing support for the overall engagement of students.

Qualifications:

Education: Master's degree

Experience:

3-5 years of experience in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work, and/or work in Higher Education. With a demonstrated progression of leadership experience.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $70,000 -$85,000 commensurate with experience

Hours Expectation:

Full-time, 35 hours a week
