Client Overview: The client is a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company.
Position Overview: Assistant Designer will support the design team to help with a launch of three new brands that were recently acquired.
Assistant Designer Responsibilities:
- Research the market and assist designer with seasonal trends, colors, prints and silhouettes to support the senior team.
- Attend and assist in design meetings, proto reviews, and line reviews.
- Assist in preparations for product presentations and market week. Responsible for managing execution of production packages including color and trim specifications and preparing production ready print and graphic artwork.
- Project manage production timelines, sending out artwork and color standards.
- Check sample requests, development packages, and production packages for accuracy, (including pricing), prior to sending to factories.
- Correspond with overseas factories regarding production.
- Oversee production work of assistant designers; delegate work and tasks based on priority.
- Work with senior team in choosing colors and prints for design presentations.
- Assist designers with the trim and fabric library, color pallets, and flat sketching.
- Recolor prints in multiple seasonal colorways.
- Assist Designer with strike offs and lab dips.
- Execute organized and accurate technical development packages that include construction details, sketches, fabrications, trims, print, and color details.
- Attend fittings to support senior team.
- Manage day to day projects including filing and organizing.
