Job Objective:As the Assistant Development Director, you will support the organization's fundraising goals by focusing on securing grants and coordinating external events. This role involves collaborating closely with the Development Director to identify grant opportunities, write compelling proposals, and manage events to engage donors and partners ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out. What You Will Do:
- Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
- Develop, write, and submit well-crafted grant proposals, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Build and maintain relationships with grant funders, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Track grant applications, deadlines, and reporting requirements, ensuring timely submission and compliance.
- Plan and execute fundraising events, including donor receptions, community outreach activities, and other fundraising events.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and event content.
- Analyze event and grant performance metrics to refine strategies for future fundraising initiatives.
- Support the Development Director in preparing presentations, data, and reports for board meetings and other organizational updates
- Other tasks as assigned by leadership
Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.Education: Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications or a related field. - Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
