Would you like to be involved with every single discipline across the development spectrum: e.g., engineering, architecture, land planning, landscape architecture, construction, home builder, finance, investing, accounting, HOA, marketing, etc.?

We are looking to hire an Assistant Development Manager (ADM) to serve a critical role in the development of projects in North AL. The applicant must be willing to start in our Franklin, TN office for approximately a year to 1.5 years before relocating to North AL (Huntsville, Decatur, Athens area) in 2026. An ideal candidate will have 3 to 6 years of experience in one or more of the disciplines listed above, a creative problem solver, and enjoys being in an environment where everyday is different.

As an Assistant Development Manager with Land Innovations you are learning how to lead/orchestrate an entire development project from beginning to end with an initial focus on becoming proficient in the day to day Design, Construction, and Budget Management. We are looking for someone who understands the horizontal construction process, is a creative problem solver that can connect the dots, and is interested in learning how to proactively manage, collaborate, and communicate with a wide range of contractors, consultants, vendors, etc. The ADM is expected to be proficient in a variety of skills, such as: leading the construction process, contractor management, schedule development and oversight, bid and contract development, governmental agency management, construction document review and development, budget creation/execution, etc.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, engineering, or related fields including architecture, construction management, landscape architecture, or planning. Certain work experiences can be considered in this evaluation.
  • 3 - 6 years of professional experience in the land development industry
  • Proficient at Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and scheduling software.
  • It is a plus to have skills in hand and/or computer aided drafting software, graphic software.
  • Identifies as a creative problem solver - A work history of digging in, resolving issues, and connecting the dots
  • Strong communication skills
  • Maintains a positive attitude, communicates well, adapts to ever changing and challenging situations
  • Willing to roll up your sleeves and get dirty, if necessary, to see the job through. In Land Development keeping the jobs on track is essential.
  • Proven management skills that will allow you to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple concurrent projects with mentorship from the Partners and/or Development Manager(s)
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with an interest in continuous improvement and adding value.
  • Efficiently and effectively manages the timely completion of tasks
  • Willing to learn all aspects of the Development cycle. Nothing is to small or not important. The details matter.
  • Exemplifies grit: perseverance, determination, passionate, and a strong work ethic
