Insp r Senior Living, Maplewood Senior Living s new brand of world-class, urban senior living properties, is now hiring Servers for its new Insp r Carnegie Hill property. Insp r Carnegie Hill is located on the Upper East Side and stands 23stories with 215 residential units. It offers assisted living, enhanced care, and memory care with a unique and innovative Integrated Care Model. Typical Work Duties & Functions

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the dining room(s) with oversight and direction from the Dining Room Manager and Executive Chef
  • Ensures appropriate and consistent staffing is in place for the dining room(s)
  • Participates in the recruitment and hiring process for servers
  • Monitors the performance of servers and provides feedback/coaching/mentoring as needed
  • Resolves resident and guest dining room conflicts/concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Provides outstanding customer experience for residents and their loved ones, as well as other visitors to the community
  • Assures that residents are comfortable, engaged, and catered to in the dining room(s)
  • Performs all assignments prior to the dining room(s) opening
  • Assists with meal service under the supervision of the Executive Chef, Sous Chef and/or Dining Room Manager
  • Understands the daily menu and how food is prepared before each meal and is able to answer questions related to the menu; offers guidance to servers as needed to ensure their understanding of the menu items
  • Assures snack area(s) are properly stocked and kept tidy and clean at all times
  • Assists in keeping dining room(s) clean and properly arranged for residents
  • Performs assignments after dining room(s) close and ensure the room(s) is/are ready for the next meal service
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with teammates and associates in other departments to ensure that the dining experience is of the highest quality for residents and guests
  • Complete monthly in-service education hours as required by state specific regulations and company policies
  • Participates in the sales and marketing process by ensuring guests receive an outstanding dining experience during tours and events
  • Performs others tasks as assigned by the Dining Room Manager and Executive Chef

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two (2) year advanced degree required (hospitality preferred)
  • Experience with and passion for working with seniors
  • A minimum of two years experience in supervising staff and managing in a restaurant-like setting; or a minimum of five years experience working in the dietary department of an assisted living or another long-term care facilities
