Including but not limited to, volunteer recruitment, training, and oversight, event coordination, fundraising, and program management.Job Description:Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a Regional Engagement Model through FAN clubs: Recruit and support regional alumni and parent leadership to promote not only social interaction but execution of key institutional objectives (fundraising, new student recruitment, service, internship, and career networking, etc.). Maintaining up to date contact information for regional leadership and consistently looking to expand the network. Provide full staff support to high priority clubs in cities with high alumni density and facilitate a self-service model for smaller clubs.
  • Recruitment and management of alumni and parent volunteers. Develop and implement a system to recruit, train, and manage alumni volunteers. Promote volunteer opportunities to alumni via a dedicated web presence, social media, and traditional marketing methods. Utilize relationships with Gift Officers to connect with engaged alumni, who are also donors, who would be highly dedicated and engaged FAN Club volunteers.
  • Create and manage a robust digital engagement strategy utilizing Raisers Edge, Almabase, VanillaSoft, and the ALC platform. Recruit and secure alumni and faculty experts for ALC programming opportunities.
  • Oversee coordination and event management for select University affinity and identity groups to include, but not limited to LBGTQ+, FMAA, First Gen, and HOLA. Develop strategies to integrate affinity and identity events and activities into FAN Clubs.
  • Oversee annual FAN Day, DINS Day, Summer Send Off, Family Weekend FUN Run, and FAN holiday activities including managing volunteers, marketing event details, and coordinating staff support. Work closely with other Development staff in recruitment of volunteers and hosts.
  • Coordinate social media, website, and all other communications regarding FAN Club events with Associate Director of Development Communications. Associate Director of Development Communications is lead for the communication calendar and content.
  • Serve as key partner with Athletics Development to plan, coordinate and execute engagement opportunities connected to athletic teams and competitions, including but not limited to tailgates, block seating, team send-off events, and tournament appearances. Utilize each sport's calendar to consider and plan FAN Club events around team travel to FAN Club cities.
  • Collaborate with campus partners, including but not limited to, the Malone Career Center, Mentoring Office and Institutes for programming opportunities and signature events. Execute regional and local events such as Career Treks and Advantage Greenville.
  • Meet with key alumni donors, volunteers, or prospects, coordinating with assigned gift officers, when applicable.
  • Serve as an active member of the Alumni and Parent Engagement team. Participate in all major programs, such as Homecoming, Family Weekend, Spring Weekend, local and region events, and other Development and campus events and as requested by the Director, Vice President, or President.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Communicates openly and recognizes the contributions of co-workers and supervisor.
  • Completes performance review process with supervisor/employees to understand job performance expectations and how they fit into the department and university goals.
  • Pursues professional development to keep pace with demands for services and information, including maintaining up to date information about the department and university
Relationships:
  • Daily contact with members of own work unit and immediate supervisor to plan, coordinate, problem solve, present information, and make suggestions related to mutual goals.
  • Daily contact with alumni to exchange information and explanation of rules, regulations, practices, or functions.
  • Frequent contact with venues and businesses both locally and globally to coordinate various functions including but not limited to banquets, tailgates, meetings, parties, and lectures.
  • Occasional contact with professional peers at other institutions to exchange information and explanation of rules, regulations, practices, or functions.
Responsibility for Final Decisions:Tasks involve multiple procedures with interrelated processes or steps. Work involves choosing the appropriate option or procedure to follow and applying established rules and procedures.Errors may be detected within the department or section in which they occur but may affect the work of others within the unit to trace errors and make corrections.Reports To: Associate Director, Alumni and Parent EngagementWork is performed independently except where the interpretation of law, policy, rule, complex procedure, or request for exception is required.Education/Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with two years' experience in a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including a service-oriented approach, and ability to interact with all types of people.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • High energy level.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of the overall Development effort.
  • Familiarity with AlmaBase, VanillaSoft, and Raisers Edge preferred but not required.
  • Computer proficient in all aspects of social media (i.e., Facebook and Instagram); knowledge of Microsoft Word and EXCEL, Internet.
Work Conditions:
  • Work is performed under usual office conditions.
  • Moderate travel is an expectation of this position.
