The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Dean and the Associate Director of Engagement, the Assistant Director of Engagement assists in coordinating MBA processes to meet targeted enrollment goals. The Assistant Director collaborates with the Associate Director to increase the diversity of the MBA applicant pool. This position focuses on overseeing the coordination of recruitment and retention of qualified underrepresented candidates at the school, emphasizing event management, operational support, and data management.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Assistant Dean of Engagement to create, develop, and execute recruitment initiatives designed to build a diverse applicant pool. Support the Associate Director of Engagement in designing and executing both in-person and virtual events, including capstone events for over 250 candidates. Collaborate on partnerships with related affinity student clubs, cultivate relationships with current students, alumni, faculty, and administrators, and solicit their participation in events.
  • In partnership with the Associate Director, and in collaboration with the Admissions Recruitment Team and the Enrollment Marketing Team, help develop a communications strategy to enhance applicant diversity and engagement. This includes outreach to prospective and admitted students and updating marketing materials such as website content and information session materials.
  • Work with the Associate Director on operations and communications surrounding Columbia Business School s partnership with the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management. Coordinate application integration into Slate, our application and CRM platform, and assist in executing the application processing strategy.
  • Serve as a member of the Admissions Committee. Evaluate and recommend applicants, with duties including reading and assessing applications, conducting interviews, and making fellowship recommendations.
  • Promote and market programs by coordinating and delivering virtual, on-campus, and off-campus presentations for all degree programs. Participate in other general recruitment activities as determined by the supervisor. Represent the Business School at public forums both locally and nationally (approximately two to four weeks of travel per year) to prospective candidates, and to outside professional organizations and associations.
  • Oversee the coordination of the Engagement team s individual and small group meetings with our partner organizations and prospective candidates to ensure they receive the necessary support and encouragement to apply.
  • Assist in building and facilitating partnerships with third-party organizations committed to enhancing the diversity of applicant pools.
  • Support the Associate Director in the collection, reporting, and analysis of data.
  • Assist with budget tracking and reconciliation.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree and/or its equivalent required. 2-4 years related experience required.
  • Demonstrated excellent presentation, organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including abilities for geo-statistical reporting and the coordination of multiple targeted mailings.
  • Comfortable presenting the MBA Program to diverse audiences, including prospective applicants, alumni, and corporate persons.
  • Ability to travel (domestic and international) and work evenings and weekends required.
