This 12-month position is responsible for teaching and assisting the students in the EDGE Program with developing job skills, securing employment, and providing ongoing support to improve employment outcomes for students in the EDGE Program.

Essential Job Duties
* Teach courses each academic year for EDGE students. Courses likely include, but are not limited to, Life Skills, Social Skills, and Employment Skills. This includes preparation of class lessons and related materials, responding to student inquiries related to the course, and grading assignments.
* Collaborate with on campus partners to secure internship opportunities for first-year students in the EDGE Program. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing ongoing support to internship supervisors to ensure student success. Provide instruction and job coaching for internship sites, as needed.
* Network in the community to secure paid employment in the community for second-year students and BRIDGE students in the EDGE Program. Additionally, this position is responsible for providing ongoing support to employment supervisors to ensure student success. Provide instruction and job coaching for employment sites, as needed.
* Assist the Director in maintaining relationships and assessing recruiting efforts with existing employer partnerships through regular communication and visits.
* Instruct EDGE students how to craft resumes and cover letters, provide job search assistance, career counseling, interview preparation and mock interviews, teach career preparation workshops, etc.
* Assist students in securing transportation to and from work, as needed. This includes, but is not limited to, public transportation, rideshare, or facilitating a ride from a peer. Teach students how to identify, secure, and effectively use transportation methods that are unfamiliar.
* Work with faculty to develop accommodations, modifications, and learning plans for Union EDGE students.
* Assist in the creation of student portfolios, containing student-selected artifacts of course assignments, products from internships and externships showcasing skills, and examples of growth through service and leadership activities.
* Cultivate collaborative relationships with other departments on campus, including student services, Student Life, and other support services.
* Teach students life and relationship skills, coaching them through challenging situations and helping them identify how to implement lessons.
* Serve one week per month in the EDGE Staff On-Call rotation, to provide after-hours support to students, if needed.
* Other duties and projects to be determined by the Program Director.
Other Job Duties Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in special education, social work, or related field.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with people with disabilities. Additionally, preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills; and demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and to conduct oneself in a highly professional and ethical manner.
