Job Description The Assistant Director for Events and Campus Visit Experience is an integral position within the Admissions & Enrollment Services office and is responsible for planning, oversight, and execution of all aspects of event programming for prospective and incoming students. The Assistant Director position will support the university's mission of economic mobility and social impact through the campus visit experience. This position has oversight responsibilities for on-campus recruitment events and will serve as the lead for the on-campus visit experience throughout the recruitment cycle. Additional duties include maintaining currency with national best practices regarding campus visit experiences . This position also serves as a member of the Leadership Team within the AES Department. Leadership and Program Oversight - 70%
- Serve as a member of the Admissions & Enrollment Services leadership team by participating in strategic planning, staffing decisions, and other key areas.
- Supports the university's mission of economic mobility and social impact through the campus visit experience.
- Collaborate with the Director to facilitate strategic vision for on-campus recruitment events and prospective student programming.
- Oversee all prospective student visit event programming, including development and growth of the curriculum to serve thousands of prospective students and guests across all annual events.
- Develop, refine and assess the on-campus visit experience for prospective and incoming students.
- Manage the registration system used for on-campus recruitment and visit experiences and events.
- Direct the development, facilitation, training, hiring and supervision of the True Blue Ambassador Program within the office.Includes leadership initiatives and mentoring programs, creates curriculum and facilitates trainings.
- Evaluates program effectiveness, assesses outcomes, and develops improved programming to achieve goals, complete cost analyses for programs/events.
- Stay current on local, regional, and national campus visit trends. Reports back to AES leadership on best practices for campus visit experiences to allow the University to stay current in its programming.
Outreach and Relationship Building - 20%
- Collaborate with functional and subject area experts within and out of Enrollment Management in the development of relationships and training materials, policies, and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the Enrollment Management Communications and University Marketing areas of the University in the development of promotional event and prospective student programming materials.
- Collaborate with Scholarships and Financial Aid and Student Affairs teams to maximize prospective student programming effectiveness.
- Represent the department on various committees, work groups and employee forums.
- Counsel, guide, and advise prospective students in the completion of complex admission and financial aid forms, admissions requirements, transfer guidelines, cost of attendance, financial aid programs, and various other student and enrollment related services, programs, and opportunities.
- Provides presentations to colleagues as related to prospective student programs.
- Collaborate with Academic areas to maximize prospective student and family experiences.
Supervision - 15%
- Direct, guide, and support the Event Managers in supervising any graduate assistants and all True Blue Ambassadors.
- Supervises two Event Managers and consults on the development, logistics, facilitation, execution, and evaluation of major, high profile recruitment programs and projects such as Discover NAU, NAU Said Yes and other visit day experiences for prospective students.
Data & Assessment - 10%
- Track and assess experiences for all on-campus events and visits.
- Responsible for reporting out to departmental and divisional leadership both quantitative and qualitative data regarding prospective student visit experiences.
- Oversight of registration system.
- Continuous assessment of student employee activities and time allocations.
- Remain up to date with best practices for campus visit experiences.
- Collaborating with campus partners to ensure visit experiences are accessible to all.
Other - 5%

Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate bachelor's degree.
- 2-4 years of management or supervisory experiences;
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- A combination of related education, experience and training may be used as an equivalent to the above educational Minimum Requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in student personnel, education, business, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution AND at least four years of progressively responsible experience in higher education, new student programs, campus visits and/or enrollment management
- Bachelor's degree and six years of progressively increasingadministrative and supervisory experience required.
