Please see Pay Grade Table at: .Occupational Category Professional Department Campus Recreation Division Division of Student Affairs Open Date 11/20/2024 Open Until Filled Yes Educational and Experience Requirement Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Recreation Sports Administration, Student Personnel Services, Higher Education, or related field. Master's degree preferred. Two years of experience in a recreation-oriented program or experience in a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.Nature & Purpose of Position Assists the Associate Director of Programs in delivering excellent customer experiences through the Club Sport and Intramural programs and facilities. Performs moderately complex managerial work, providing direction and guidance in operations and planning in the department. Responsible for the planning, organizing, and directing the daily operations and personnel of the Club Sports, with additional responsibilities assisting with Intramural Sports.Primary Responsibilities Works with the Associate Director to deliver comprehensive Club and Intramural programs. Establishes goals, objectives, and standards, as well as implements, coordinates, and evaluates policies and procedures for compliance. Responsibilities include develops schedules, setting priorities, and recommends improvements in operations. Monitors budget expenditures and oversees event management. Plans and supervises staff activities, prepares management reports, conducts strategic planning. Specifically for club sports, this role provides guidance, support, and oversight, coordinates training for club sport officers, ensures compliance with University policies, and manages student staff hiring and development. Additional duties include coordinates travel, monitors budgets, promotes club sports through marketing, creates practice schedules, and manages budget allocations. Educates club sport teams on policy compliance, oversees the Club Sport Council, assists with facility maintenance, serves as a secondary contact for field reservations, and handles intramural programming by hiring and training officials, reviews training content, and provides in-person support, including conducts disciplinary conversations when necessary. Performs other duties as assigned.Other Specifications Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws. Ability to manage business functions. Communicates with other university departments, personnel, and other agencies. National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) certification is desirable. First aid, CPR, and computer experience are helpful. Must possess strong written and oral communication skills essential to working with large groups. Working hours may vary as required, including evening and weekend work.
