About the roleVentia's contract with the Department of Justice is seeking an engaging and supportive Assistant Director - Logistics to join the Control Centre Team based in Canning Vale, Western Australia.

Reporting directly into the Deputy Director, you will work collaboratively to assist in the delivery across several functions including the oversight of Prisoner Escorting, Fleet & Depot Maintenance, the Response team, the Fiona Stanley Secure Unit, and play a critical part in the rollout of a new fleet of vehicles. We are looking for a unique person who can deliver this solution in the most efficient and effective manner while working as part of the senior management team for the Court Security and Custodial Services contract.

Key duties but not limited to:

  • Meet with key internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure that our service delivery and strategic objectives are appropriately aligned to our customers' needs
    • Metropolitan Prisons
    • FSH Security and Hospital Management
    • Department of Justice
    • Western Australia Police
    • CRAD
    • Court Officials
    • Fleet Maintenance providers
  • Fleet Management & Administration
  • Assist in developing business objectives, policies & procedures
  • Complete internal audits where required
  • Deliver a high standard of service delivery while constantly maintaining staff and PiC welfare and safety
  • Ensure compliance against the Court Security and Custodial Services Act 1999
  • Positively contribute to a diverse, inclusive, and fair work environment, free from discrimination, bullying, and harassment

Skills and experience:

  • Diploma in Leadership and/or relevant experience
  • Proven experience operating in a logistics role or demonstrated experience in an escort custody operational environment
  • Sound knowledge of legislation and associated requirements
  • Ability to implement continuous improvement opportunities; Risk, Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment
  • Personable and professional, with a strong capability to remain objective, unbiased, and balanced in challenging environments
  • Computer literacy (MS Office suite and databases) and ability to navigate reporting tools and Government-based systems and interpret large sets of data
