This position is responsible for managing financial processes, overseeing administrative functions, and providing strategic support to foundation leadership to achieve fundraising and stewardship goals. The role requires strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and collaborative leadership.Note: This position is INTERNAL Only. Only current DSU employees are eligible to apply.Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- 1-3 years or experience in finance, accounting, or administration.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles and practices, including budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting standards and practices, with experience in financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Understanding of non-profit accounting standards and regulations, if applicable.
- Strong combination of creative, analytical and organizational skills; attention to detail.
- Proficiency with database management systems.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of philanthropic partners
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provides management support of the budgeting process including the analysis and review of financial information and its impacts on Institutional Advancement operations supporting the DSU Foundation.
- Oversees the production of accurate and timely budget and expense management reports.
- Analyzes and interprets financial information for planning and control purposes.
- Participates with the Director of Data & Operations with operational strategic planning.
- Establishes performance goals to evaluate success of assigned area of responsibility.
- Participates in formulating and implementing policies and procedures to enhance the Accounting/Financial Management of the resources for Institutional Advancement/ DSU Foundation.
- Leads the execution of the day-to-day financial operations.
- Responsible for ensuring that all programs and philanthropic activities in support of the DSU Foundation align with accounting standards to comply with 990 requirements and the accounting/financial policies of the University and Board of Regents policies,
- Coordinates the work activities of Advancement Services Specialist and Advancement Operations Student interns.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Data and Operations or Vice President of Institutional Advancement
