Assistant Director of Athletic Business Operations
Long Island University (LIU), an NCAA DI institution, is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletic Business Operations. The Assistant Director of Athletic Operations is a member of the LIU Athletics Business Operations team and manages day-to-day financial operations for designated sports and administrative units within Long Island University Athletics. The position will frequently work with the University's Business and Financial Services department (i.e., Accounts Payable, Financial Accounting, Budget, Procurement), Human Resources and travel partners to engage and enhance the success of the athletics program.
This position is based on the Long Island University Post campus but requires an active presence of Business operations for all sports programs at both the Post and Brooklyn campuses.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Day-to-day monitoring of budgets.
* Processing expenses.
* Managing invoices and payments through the procurement system.
* Handling reimbursement requests.
* Conducting credit card reconciliations.
* Coordinating travel logistics.
* Ensuring adherence to financial policies.
* Administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Business Operations and the Athletics department.
The Assistant Director of Athletic Business Operations works closely with our Director of Athletic Business Operations, Athletic staff and coaches to ensure adherence to institutional NCAA conference fiscal policies.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher)
* One-to-two years of full-time experience working in collegiate or professional Athletic Business operations.
* Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to plan, establish priorities and successfully manage multiple priority projects.
* Proven ability to develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational level, and project a positive, professional attitude.
* Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Office 365 and Adobe Suite.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Commitment to academic and athletic success.
* Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
* Dedication and motivation to initiate, lead and support value added projects.
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Self-motivated, results-oriented, with a positive demeanor.
* Must have a valid driver's license.
* Knowledge of NCAA and designated conference rules and compliance practices.
Perferred Qualifications
* Two-to-Four years of full-time experience working in collegiate or professional Athletic Business operations.
