Full-time Salary Position plus benefits. Located in Albuquerque, NM. Working out of Heritage Hotels & Resorts Corporate Office. Description: This position reports directly to the Corporate Director of Catering and is responsible for a specific catering sales market as well as providing direction to the Corporate Catering Sales Team. Assistant Director of Catering-Sales will ensure that sales activities and bookings yield maximum revenue and do not displace any group sales or return catering bookings. The role of the Assistant Director of Catering-Catering Sales is to work closely with the Corporate Director of Catering to ensure consistent standards, while maximizing profitability and protecting the integrity of the guest experience. Responsibilities

  • Maintains existing market as specified to the Assistant Director of Catering-Sales role
  • Assists in direction of sales activity for catering sales managers development of strategies
  • Assists and participates in sales activity (i.e. sales calls, sales blitz)
  • Provides advice and acts on recommendations for negotiations of contracts or proposals
  • Attends/conducts all designated sales & catering meetings
  • Assumes a secondary leadership role in weekly sales and DBR meetings and primary roll in the absence of the Corporate Director of Catering
  • Conducts bi-weekly Prospect & Tentative meeting
  • Trains, supervises, and motivates all catering team members to generate sales for the catering department
  • Coaches and councils members of the team as needed with set plan created with
  • Corporate Director of Catering
  • Solicits new accounts and maintains return clients
  • Negotiates, prepares and drafts contracts
  • Interacts with clients to determine needs
  • Assists with interviews, hires, trains and evaluates Catering Sales team members and
  • Catering Conventions Services Team members (when needed)
  • Conducts persuasive verbal and nonverbal sales presentations to prospective clients
  • Schedules and assigns in detail, specific duties to all Catering Sales Team Members and when needed CS Team members for the efficient operation of the catering department
  • Assisting the Corporate Director of Catering in ensuring catering sales meet budgeted levels
  • Ensures smooth flow of information (communication from sales to banquet services and the food & beverage department
  • Prospects and establishes an expanding base of accounts
  • Prepares weekly, monthly and quarterly banquet and catering revenue reports to monitor business flow accurately
  • Assists with preparing catering sales action plans in order to focus on need dates
  • Has a working knowledge of food & beverage product offerings
  • Provides professional open communication with all team members and clients
  • Performs any other related duties as requested by Corporate Director of Catering or VP of Sales & Marketing

  • 4 Years of hospitality with specific knowledge in catering and/or conference services
  • Excellent computer skills including, but not limited to use of Microsoft Word, Excel and
  • SalesForce/Amadeus Salesforce
  • Knowledge of sales skills, revenue management and training
  • Ability to create and execute personal and team action plans
  • Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of food and beverage trends
  • Knowledge and understanding of hotel and banquet operations
  • Ability to work various hours based on group and conference needs
  • Desire to serve guests and provide an outstanding product with exceptional service
  • Possesses superior customer service and employee-relation skills
  • Possesses excellent teamwork and communication skills, as both are necessary to maintain a well-orchestrated operation that resonates with guests
