This position reports to the Director of Development and works closely and collaboratively within the department including with gift officers, prospect management, development operations, stewardship, special events, and annual giving teams. The individual will also have front-facing interaction with clinicians, faculty and donors. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the RUSH mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with RUSH policies and procedures.Responsibilities:• Focus on the acquisition and qualification of prospective major, principal and planned gift donors to strengthen portfolios for leadership annual giving, major, principal and planned giving.• Develop and execute personalized cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies, in partnership with gift officers, and write and edit complex communications to support these plans (including qualification letters, acknowledgement letters and letters for cultivation purposes; proposals; stewardship reports; briefing materials; and other materials).• Assist in the management of a portfolio of donors who are in permanent stewardship.• In close collaboration with the prospect management and prospect research teams, utilize multiple data sources to conduct basic research and prospect identification tasks to feed into gift officer portfolios.• Conduct phone calls to identified prospective donors to schedule face-to-face visits, participate in visits with gift officers, and engage in conversations about RUSH that may qualify them as potential prospects.• Work with the development operations team to run and create (as needed) reports from Power BI and Advance databases to support these activities.• Utilize and keep up to date records in donor database to track prospective donor activity and interests.• Develop an understanding of the RUSH strategic priorities and philanthropic funding needs to better assist with the identification of major, principal and planned gift prospects.• Provide guidance to development associates and/or administrative assistants when necessary.• Other special project management as required.Requirements:• Baccalaureate degree required.• Preferably three years in development or a related field, preferably in a health care or higher education setting or sales.• Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office products with particular emphasis on MS Excel is required.• Reliability, flexibility, and sensitivity to issues of confidentiality.• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, as necessary.• Professional demeanor.• Ability to understand and articulate RUSH's mission and the campaign vision to a variety of constituencies with poise and diplomacy.• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to draft correspondence and other materials suitable for a sophisticated audience with minimum supervision.• Excellent interpersonal skills.• Excellent analytic skills, with particular emphasis on data and project management.• Ability to interface effectively with prospects, donors, faculty, and volunteer leaders.• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects.• Initiative, sound judgment, and an ability to work collaboratively to move programs and prospects forward.• Time management skills in the context of multiple competing priorities.• Careful attention to detail and a commitment to quality and timeliness in all work.• Demonstrated experience working with databases such as Advance, Raiser's Edge or Salesforce.Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
