Our client, The American Technion Society (ATS) is currently seeking an Assistant Director of Development, San Francisco to join their growing organization. The remote position is based in the San Francisco Bay area will require attending in person events.

ATS employs a staff of 70 + that work from New York and in regional offices across the United States.

YOUR ROLE

As the Assistant Director of Development (ADD) you will conduct and coordinate efforts to raise funds and cultivate relationships with prospects and donors. The ADD is an important figure representing the ATS and Technion with broad responsibility for regional fundraising efforts to include a portfolio of prospects, event planning and execution, and alumni and volunteer engagement.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Fundraising and Donor Relations:

  • Partner with the Executive Director of Principal Gifts, Western Region and the Director of Development to manage the American Technion's Society's presence in the greater San Francisco Bay area
  • Support a portfolio of 50+ prospects giving in the 4 and 5 figure range, building relationships with individuals to secure philanthropic support. Create and implement a donor commitment continuum (DCC) plan for each.
  • Advance the presence of the American Technion Society through impactful activities that further the interaction with prospects and be a key figure representing the Technion in these circles.
  • Deploy resources to maximize the philanthropic potential of assigned territory and/or portfolio. Work with ATS colleagues in the development of strategic annual and long-term fundraising plans and evaluate progress to goals.
  • Identify and complete professional development learning opportunities and share lessons learned with your manager/team.

Meeting & Event Planning, Execution & Follow-Up:

  • Coordinate with Programs and the Bay Area fundraising team to prepare itineraries and briefings for speakers.
  • If on-site, set up event, provide food and beverage, manage registration table, answer questions.
  • Manage, record, and report all expenses (including speaker-specific expenses).
  • As necessary, when contracts are required, secure appropriate authorization as per company guidelines.
  • In coordination with Bay Area team, determine best date, time, location, and schedule via Zoom (if appropriate) or arrange meeting room location and invite all attendees.
  • Utilize the ATS database to maintain accurate records of all donor interactions, individuals' programmatic interests, trends in giving and type of support to solicit.

SKILLS and STRENGTHS

  • A strategic thinker and self-starter who understands a vision of success and can translate that into a tactile plan.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required.
  • 3+ years relevant experience required.
  • Demonstrated interest in learning about the fundraising field.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including a high level of attention to detail and active listening skills.
  • The ability to set priorities and work with diplomacy and efficiency in a highly demanding environment is essential.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information with excellent judgement and discretion. Must have a passion for excellent customer service and commitment to exceptional work quality.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite along with Raiser's Edge.

Salary Range: $90,000 -$110,000
