The Assistant Director of Diocesan and International Engagement is an accomplished professional whose focus will be on supporting the team from an administrative perspective with the activities to build and execute programs to more meaningfully engage Catholic dioceses, organizations, and constituents across the U.S. with a goal of increasing engagement with diocesan leadership, Alumni, current and prospective students and their families, and with other supporters of Catholic University. This position will actively interact with other Catholic University groups to accomplish these goals, including the offices of enrollment management, office of student affairs, and the University Advancement office of Alumni Engagement and office of Community Relations.

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $60,000-65,000.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Associate Vice President of University Advancement and the Director of Diocesan Engagement in day-to-day record keeping, travel arrangements, expense reporting, correspondence, and scheduling, as needed.
  • Assist the Associate Vice President for International Engagement in the collection, analysis and presentation of international alumni communities, partnership opportunities and donor prospects, in support of the development of an international engagement strategy for University Advancement.
  • Working closely with the office of Community Relations in University Advancement, contribute to programming and engagement opportunities within the communities surrounding the Catholic University campus.
  • Support the development of an engagement strategy for priest and religious alumni that will encourage increased engagement with the University. Partner with the Alumni team to create metrics for this engagement.
  • Support the execution of the National Collection for the Catholic University of America nationally, working closely with the Director of the National Collection Coordinator CUA and external diocesan representatives to ensure collection preparation and follow-up.
  • Support and collaborate with the Director of the National Collection and the AVP of Diocesan Relations in the development and implementation of a strategy to grow the response to the National Collection by 20%.
  • Support the AVP of Diocesan Relations in the development and implementation of a national engagement strategy for US Bishops to encourage stronger ties and increase awareness and interest in university programming and increase involvement in the university by key bishop stakeholders.
  • Liaise with the Divisions of Admission and Enrollment on the development and execution of a strategy for engagement of prospective students through the cultivation of key diocesan relationships including parish outreach, youth ministers, and Catholic schools systems.
  • Support the development and implementation of targeted engagement strategies for key non-diocesan Catholic organizations that could help to advance the goals of the university.
  • Support the Division of University Advancement in achieving its strategic and fundraising goals through productive interaction and collaboration with all departmental staff, University liaisons, and external constituents.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors Degree.
  • At least three (3) years in higher education, non-profit, or similar work setting dealing with volunteer management, alumni relations, event management, fundraising, or related responsibilities.
  • Experience in content programming, event management and volunteer management is desirable.
  • Understanding of Catholic religious constituencies is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience in international work is desirable.
  • Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certification: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Google for Education, and ability to learn new software programs and functions, including donor database and online community.
  • Possession of current and valid U.S. drivers license appropriate to the type of university vehicle being operated.
  • An acceptable Motor Vehicle Driving Record (MVR) as stipulated in the Vehicle Guidelines and Procedures Manual administered through the office of Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Annual clearance of MVR check through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle deadline pressure and flexibility to pivot when needed.
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to motivate volunteers and colleagues.
  • The ability to drive a vehicle (campus or non-campus) on behalf of university business.
