Position Summary:

The Assistant Director of Engagement assists with managing reunions, regional alumni events, and strategic Alumni Engagement plans to support Advancement programs. Reporting to the Director of Engagement, this role collaborates with the Advancement team to enhance young alumni engagement and supports various targeted programs. Responsibilities include identifying and cultivating volunteers, managing annual gifts, and planning key Alumni Engagement events.

Essential Functions of the Position:

* Alumni Engagement through Collaborative Partnerships: Create new alumni engagement opportunities under the Director of Engagement's guidance. Collaborate with College partners to align with strategic priorities and communicate with the Advancement team. Act as a liaison to college offices working with alumni volunteers (Career Services, Admissions, academic programs, Greek Life, etc.). Assist with the Marietta College Alumni Association Council (MCAA-C) and sub-committees.

* Alumni Engagement through Event Management: Identify strategic alumni engagement opportunities through events (e.g., homecoming, golf outings, Day of Giving, Doo Dah Day Everywhere, conference social hours, virtual events). Plan, promote, and execute events to meet Advancement and College goals. Manage Alumni Engagement social media platforms to strengthen online engagement. Track and benchmark alumni engagement effectiveness.

* Alumni Engagement through Effective Service: Oversee the design, procurement, and inventory of branded materials for Alumni Engagement. Maintain alumni volunteer data and provide updates to the Advancement team. Provide exceptional service in responding to alumni queries and requests. Review web content for accuracy. Assist with managing student assistants to support Alumni Engagement priorities.

* Manage young alumni class engagement and annual giving campaigns.

* Support the Senior Class Challenge and promote student philanthropy.

* Collaborate with Advancement leads on various projects.

* Assist with digital content production and dissemination.

* Organize alumni activities at athletic events, Homecoming, reunions, regional events, and Senior Challenge.

Requirements:

Required Skills and Abilities:

* Results-oriented with strong time management and multitasking abilities.

* Proven success in building relationships and working with volunteers.

* Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.

* Ability to manage projects and relationships with diverse stakeholders.

* Passion for alumni engagement.

Required Experience & Education:

* Bachelor's degree required.

* 1-3 years of experience in volunteer/event management, fundraising, and development.

* Preferred experience with Blackbaud, social media platforms, and related software.

* Preferred experience in development, marketing, digital engagement, and volunteer program management.

Additional Information:

Physical Requirements:

* Ability to work in an office setting sitting, standing, and walking on a regular basis.

* Use of office equipment including computers, printers, copiers with lifting of less than 20Ib occasionally.
