WHAT YOUR DAY IS LIKE

WHAT'S NEEDED FROM AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING?
We're looking for someone who can work a Monday to Friday schedule, with the occasional evening meetings and meet the following qualifications:
* Experience as a professional engineer
* Professional engineer certifications
* Knowledge of the principles and practices associated with public works operations, including plan review and construction inspection
* Understanding of the principles and practices associated with the design, construction, and management of roadways, bridges, creeks, sidewalks, trails, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, water mains, and facilities
* Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
* Familiarity with the administration of municipal budgets
* Understanding of relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies
* Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
* Proficiency with computers and job-related software programs
* Familiarity with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices guidelines
* Skills in planning and implementing public works programs and projects
* Expertise in planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating personnel
* Ability to analyze problems and develop and implement solutions
* Skill in preparing clear and precise administrative reports
* Extensive oral and written communication skills
