Discover the life that awaits you at Accor, visit Do what you love, care for the world, dare to challenge the status quo! #BELIMITLESSJob DescriptionAssistant Director, Finance & Business SupportRate of Pay: $75,000-95,000 per annumReporting to the Director, Finance & Business Support, the Assistant Director, Finance & Business Support is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, including Income Audit, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable and Payroll, ensuring that the department operates efficiently and smoothly while adhering to corporate standards. Assist the Director of Finance and Business Support to ensure proper internal controls are in place ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring efficient completion of all month-end functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of the financial operating statements and reports in accordance with the Corporate Policy and Procedures.
  • Monitor, supervise and prepare Bank Reconciliation's and month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Based on monthly reconciliations, ensure necessary corrections are processed.
  • Verify accuracy and timelines of all of the night audit transactions and monitoring adherence to established procedures. Also, the Assistant Director of Finance and Business Support is responsible for the accuracy of all internal reporting (Daily Revenue Report, Cash Over/Short report, etc.)
  • Ensuring accuracy and timelines of all operational tax reporting.
  • Conducting productive monthly departmental meeting to communicate all pertinent departmental, hotel and company information.
  • Maintain Legacy account reconciliations and files. Supervising the filling and maintenance of all accounting related documents and records in accordance with the document retention as per Company policy.
  • Maintains a system of accounts and controls, providing accurate data necessary for all required accounting reports.
  • Participates in the creation of the Annual Operating & Capital Budgets, Hotel Goals & Strategies Process and the Monthly Operating Forecast.
  • Assist the Director of Finance and Business Support during audits - COR, Regional, Owners, government, internal and any external audit, etc. providing required information and back up and making sure to implement changes suggested and following up action plan.
  • Co-ordinate and ensure that all daily, semi-monthly and monthly management reports are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist in the effective utilization and integration of the hotel and accounting technology systems, including software applications current and future.
  • Actively contribute to the hotel's overall leadership and direction.
  • Develop an enthusiastic guest-service driven team.
  • Represents the Accounting office and the Director of Finance and Business Support, when absent.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with colleagues and other departments.
  • Working knowledge of all positions in the Accounting office with the ability to assist during the day to day and cover during annual vacations.
  • Assist in the development on the accounting staff including hiring, training, cross training, ensuring the accounting staff understand and follows applicable Company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate promptly with the Director of Finance and Business Support on any discrepancies or potential problems.
  • All other tasks and duties as assigned.
  • QualificationsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • College degree with emphasis in Accounting required. CPA preferred
  • Superior skills in computer technology and applications including Excel, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint,
  • Demonstrated experience with Accounting systems or similar financial software for the purpose of financial reporting, analysis and presentation.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills with a positive track record of developing a highly motivated and cross trained group of progressive accounting professionals.
  • Excellent administrative, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure.
  • Experience on Hospitality industry a plus.
