This role assists the Administrator and Director of Health Services in implementing the vision of Cedar Lake Park Place and Sycamore Run's Individuals being fully engaged in the community and receiving the full benefits of an intermediate care facility for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Communicates with the Director of Health Services regarding all Individuals' status changes and significant changes in the Health Services area as it relates to the Individuals and staff.Assists in overseeing and coordinating all medical, dental, and health services programs provided for the Individuals we support.Possesses a working knowledge of the ICF/IID regulations and assists in ensuring all contract services meet the needs of the Individuals. Maintains appropriate records and operations within regulations and established CLL standards.Fully understands all aspects of Individuals' rights, including the right to be free of restraints and free of abuse. Encourage and assist Individuals in exercising their rights.Encourages community participation and facilitates cultivation of friendships. Provides guidance and direction on social, judgement, health, and safety issues.Facilitates and assists the Medical Director and Physician Assistant with the main medical clinic.Works in conjunction with the Director of Health Services and Scheduling Coordinator to assign personnel at Sycamore Run, and coordinates & supervises the delivery of care & health services to the Individuals we support.Assists in the supervision of all members of the Health Services team at Park Place and Sycamore Run. Assists in the supervision of all members of the Direct Support Professional team at Sycamore Run.Assists with the recruitment and hiring of personnel, as well as evaluations, disciplinary actions, and professional development of employees. Compiles and delivers performance appraisals.Monitors and delivers corrective actions for time, attendance, and performance-related issues, up to and including termination, as designated by the Director of Health Services.Contacts families/guardians regarding any significant changes in an Individual's health or treatment plan, as necessary.Assists in medication management, including monthly and quarterly medication audits, and destruction per regulations and established Cedar Lake policy.Ensures informed consents are obtained and education is given to guardians and Individuals as necessary for medication additions.Coordinates and manages the self-administration of medications program.Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the Individuals, visitors, families, peers, and other personnel.Assists in compiling and delivering annual Individual Program Plan (IPP) reports for the Individuals we support.Monitors and processes routine Incident Reports at Sycamore Run. Processes routine Incident Reports for Park Place in the absence of the Director of Health Services.Assists the Director of Health Services with investigations of unknown origin.Participates in various teams and committees including the Interdisciplinary Team, Dysphasia Team, Behavior Management Committee, Psychiatry Clinic, and Future-Planning Committee. Participates in other committee meetings in the absence of the Director of Health Services.Be available and on-call as assigned by the Director of Health Services. Assumes direct-care nursing role as needed.Coordinates and schedules the annual TB/Vaccination Program offered at Cedar Lake.Performs other duties as assigned. What sets you apart: Must possess the qualifications of Registered Nurse  from an accredited school of nursing and be licensed in the state of KentuckyMust have a valid Kentucky or Indiana Driver's LicensePractical nursing experience in the field of developmental disabilities preferred.2 years of nursing experience in a long-term care setting required. What your typical schedule looks like: Full-time, 40 hours per week. Exempt, salaried. Usually Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Requires flexibility to meet the needs of the Individuals and the agency. Must be available by phone when not at the facility and/or have designated qualified personnel to be on-call for staff consultation.
