**IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL RESIDE IN VANDALIA, OH OR WITHIN A 50 MILE RADIUS OF VANDALIA, OH**

The Assistant Director of Logistic Centers will support the Director of Logistics Centers in departmental planning, target setting and monitoring progress of activities by use of KPIs. The Assistant Director will also be working to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with standards, rules and regulations. The goal of the Assistant Director of Logistic Centers is to be forward thinking and solutions focused. This role will help attain objectives of productivity and customer satisfaction by solving problems before they become obstacles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting in developing and implementing plans and goals for the Logistic Centers.
  • Work alongside the Director of Logistics Centers to coordinate and supervise daily operations.
  • Directing, coordinating and planning the implementation of new processes and concepts.
  • Ensuring the facility and equipment complies with regulations.
  • Managing and planning from daily KPIs.
  • Lead and motivate others.
  • Other duties as needed.

EDUCATION:

College degree in business administration, commerce, management, industrial technology, or industrial engineering are strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Must have prior experience in high volume material handling, preferably in the automotive industry. Five (5) plus years in management strongly preferred. Must demonstrate the ability to understand material handling equipment safely. Must possess a strong problem-solving aptitude and ability to apply problem solving strategies to improve processes. Knowledge and Experience with Toyota Business Practices (TBP) is strongly preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job will focus upon the direction of work activities and will be responsible for direct management / supervisory duties affecting our team. Must ensure all customer and Carter Express defined safety, processes, and schedules are followed by all team members.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Must have working knowledge of PC applications and cognitive ability to learn customer software application(s). Proficient skills in Excel are required. Will be required to attend training and conduct training, as necessary.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment. This position will primarily sit out of our Vandalia, OH terminal with some travel to our Andersonville, TN location. Travel will be up to 20% of the time unless otherwise indicated.
